Medior System Administrator /
Cyber Engineer

At Secamo, we help organizations build cyber resilience through strategy, controls, and continuous monitoring — across IT, OT, and cloud environments. To support our growth, we’re looking for a motivated professional to join our team.

Your role

You’ve got a few years of experience under your belt and you’re ready to take the next step. As a Medior System Administrator / Cyber Engineer at Secamo, you combine solid hands-on IT skills with a growing security mindset — and you’re eager to deepen both. You’ll work on real client environments across IT and cloud, taking ownership of infrastructure tasks while increasingly contributing to cybersecurity assessments and security implementations. You bridge the gap between keeping systems running and making them resilient – and you’re supported by senior colleagues who help you grow, while you start to guide juniors yourself.

What you’ll do

  • Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain clients’ IT infrastructure independently, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
  • Windows Server & Microsoft 365: Administer Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy) and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Security Implementation: Apply and improve security best practices — patch management, firewall configuration, vulnerability assessments — with a growing understanding of the broader threat landscape.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup solutions and actively contribute to DR planning and testing.
  • Cybersecurity Assessments: Support security reviews and maturity assessments for clients, identifying risks and recommending practical improvements.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with both technical teams and client stakeholders, translating technical findings into clear recommendations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and structured documentation of systems, configurations, and security procedures.
  • Mentoring: Share your experience with junior colleagues and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in system administration, IT infrastructure, or a related technical role.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows Server environments and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • A genuine interest in cybersecurity – experience with security tooling, vulnerability management, or compliance frameworks is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently on technical challenges while knowing when to escalate or collaborate.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Dutch
  • Relevant certifications are a plus, not a requirement.

Location: Hybrid (offices in Gent and Antwerp + remote)

Why Secamo

At Secamo, we commit to offering you:

  • A role where you can grow in two directions — deepening your infrastructure expertise and building real cybersecurity skills.
  • A collaborative, expertise-led work environment with ongoing training and certifications.
  • Exposure to diverse client environments across industries, from IT to OT and cloud.
  • A competitive compensation & benefits package aligned to your experience, with clear growth paths toward senior roles.
  • Flexible working arrangements (remote/hybrid/on-site), depending on project needs.
